Robert "Wolfman" Belfour To Appear In Santa Barbara!

The Santa Barbara Blues Society Presents

AUTHENTIC DEEP SOUTH BLUESMAN

ROBERT "WOLFMAN" BELFOUR

Only California appearance! S.B. debut!
The Santa Barbara Blues Society, the oldest existing blues society in the U.S., presents its annual Member Appreciation Show on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Warren Hall, Earl Warren Showgrounds. The music starts at 8:30 PM, doors open at 7:30.

Robert "Wolfman" Belfour (born September 11, 1940, Holly Springs, Mississippi) is an authentic American blues roots musician. His father taught him the guitar at a young age and he continued his tutelage in the blues from musicians Otha Turner, R. L. Burnside, and Junior Kimbrough. Kimbrough, in particular, had a profound influence on him. His music is deeply rooted in Mississippi Hill Country traditions, in contrast to those of delta blues. His playing is characterized by a deeply percussive attack and alternate tunings.

This annual member appreciation show is FREE to each SBBS member & 1 guest!

Memberships will be available at the door, or before the show at the SBBS web site. www.SBBlues.org, or by calling (805) 722-8155.
