Give The Drummer Some....Chicago's Own....Jon Hiller!

Jon Hiller is one of the few folks in the music business who has never "tooted" his own horn. This Chicago native has played behind literally every real Blues icon still alive. You say you've never heard his name? Well....you have now.

Mr. Hiller was one of the main producers for last year's Muddy Waters Tribute that tore up the town of Westmont, Illinois. They even named a major thoroughfare after Muddy.

More than 3000 folks showed up for the tribute to a man who always gave his best to his audiences and left a legacy of recorded music unmatched by very few musicians.

Though Jon Hiller never had the chance to play with Muddy Waters; Jon said, "I met Muddy once....at a gas station as Muddy was filling his tank. I almost fell over when I realized that I was looking at Muddy Waters in the flesh. I walked up and introduced myself. Muddy smiled and shook my hand. I'll never forget that."

The show today starts with Jon describing the Muddy Waters Tribute held last year and the roster of players. He then goes on to talk of this year's tribute which will be held on the 16th of July. Once again, in the town of Westmont. The players this year will be:

Sam Lay.........................................Vocals
John Primer.....................................Guitar/Vocals
Mojo Buford.....................................Harmonica/Vocals
Willie "Big Eyes" Smith.........................Harmonica/Vocals/Drums
Rick Kreher.....................................Guitar
Mark Brumbach...................................Piano
Pat McKeever....................................Bass
Jon Hiller......................................Drums

The last part of the show speaks of Matt Lucas, the incredible man who continues to record great material and still, though he's in his seventies, work continually throughout the world.

Jon Hiller is a player, well known in Chicago. Jon has played on dozens of sessions for many artists and record companies. A knowledgable man with near perfect time. Listen as Jon describes his kits, his favorite hardware, cymbals and style of playing.

For any beginning drummer, this show is a must!
